Hobbies

I enjoy to do several activities outside my research. These activities include salsa dancing, playing with my music band, cycling, and playing soccer. The following is a summary of all these activities:

Salsa Dancing

I believe I am a native dancer. Members of my family like to dance as well, it is in my blood. I am not consider myself a professional dancer, but I like to improve every day. I have attended several workshops and places to salsa dance around the globe. This activity has allowed me to meet people from different places and backgrounds. I have performed several times in my home city and in cities nearby. Here are some pictures of my salsa dancing experience:

Music Band

I am passionate about music, it has been a big part of my life. Ever since I was 12 years old I have been learning to play several music instruments including drums, guitar, bass, upright bass, charango and others. In 2017, I joined a psychedelic rock band called Fools Like Me as a drummer. I have had the opportunity to tour with this band in several occasions. We have played in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, Bisbee, Tucson, El Paso, Mexico City, and Chihuahua City.

Recently, we have finished recording our second album which will be released later in 2019. I am very proud of this album since it is the first complete album which I recorded all the drums. The first single of the album has been release in all digital platforms such as Spotify and iTunes (you can also find our first album). The full album will be released digitally and in vinyl form as well. Here are some pictures of the tours and album:

Cycling

I enjoy doing outdoor activities too. Although I am not a professional rider, I like to explore nature by riding my road bike or mountain bike. I have had the opportunity to cycle Scenic Drive and Franklin Mountains at my home city of El Paso, Texas. Also, during my stay at California I was able to cycle the Golden Gate and the Grizzly Peak trails. Here are some pictures of me riding my bike !

Soccer

Last but not least, I like playing soccer with my friends and family. When I was a student I played in the indoor soccer intramural league from UTEP and I was champion 2 times !! I was very lucky to play with a very powerful team. Although I do not really go for any team, I do enjoy playing soccer to do exercise and to socialize with other people.
